Ser verb is used to mean something "to be" permanent , like to express " I am Indian" you have to use the "ser" verb.
The ser verb forms are as follows:

eu sou Eu sou Indiano/a. I am Indian.
tu és Tu és Indiano/a. You are Indian.
ele/ela/você é Ele é Indiano/a. He is Indian.
nós somos Nós somos Indianos/as. We are Indians.
vós sois Vós sois Indianos/as. You are Indians.
eles/elas/vocês são Eles são Indianos/as. They are Indians.
Hardly used in modern-day literature. Modern day literature uses vocês in place of vós.
