Etimologically "Fado" means destiny or luck - that which is going to happen, or is inevitable. Fado - A song, typical of Portugal.

It has two streams - Fado of Lisbon, Fado of Coimbra. Usually the university students sing fado in Sernata, at midnight along with Portuguese guitar.
