Course: Post Graduate Diploma in Multimedia and Web Technology

Course Details

1. Approved Intake : 180 for the Session (2010-11) [General-129; SC-40; ST-11]
2. Course duration : 2 Semester (One Year)
3. Course fees : Rs. 16, 000/-
4. Semester fees : Rs. 8, 000/- [Semester tuition fee will be deposited within 15 days after the commencement of  each Semester.]
5. Admission fees: During admission you require to pay Rs.8000/-(Full First semester tuition fees) + Other Charges [Registration Fees (not applicable for J.U. student); Admission Fees; Library Deposit; Caution Deposit; Session Charges, Health Card  etc.]         

Eligibility

Graduation in any discipline with some knowledge on Windows, Word Processing and basic Computer operations.

However, candidates who have appeared/ are due to appear at the qualifying examinations (B.E. / B.Tech./ B.Arch./ B.Pharm./ M.Sc./ M.A./AMIE Sec. A & B / AIIA/ BA/ BCOM/ B Sc) may also apply and such candidates, if selected, will be admitted if they can submit valid proof of their passing the qualifying examination with required percentage of marks at the time of Interview. If the results are awaited on the date of interview such selected candidates shall have to submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination within 3 months from the date of commencement of 1st semester classes failing which or if the candidate is found to be not eligible in terms of percentage of marks obtained, his/her provisional admission will be cancelled.

Mode of Selection & Admission

1. Qualifying Exam. Result (B.E/B.Tech /B.Sc. )               50 marks
2. Interview and/or Admission Test                                   50 marks

Note:

1.      Candidates whose results of the qualifying examinations are awaited on the date of Interview and/or Admission Test will be determined on the results of University Examinations declared so for the qualification (till previous results of final qualification examination).

2.      Selection will be based on Interview and/or Admission Test and Qualifying Exam result. Admission test will consist of computer uses fundamental, logical and analytical reasoning.

SC/ST Reservation

As per circular No. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-I, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL) dt.08/01/1990 and letter No. 1510-SCW dt. 31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe Persons of the State other than West Bengal are not entitled to get benefits of the State for SC/ST in Educational Institutions in West Bengal.

Application Procedure

Applicants are required to download the Application Form after on-line fill-up & Information Brochure from website http://www.setju.ac.in; http://www.jadavpur.edu . Admit cards for admission test and/or interview of short listed candidates will be available in the websites.

Schedule of Different Stages for Admission Test and/or Interview

The following schedule to be maintained regarding receipt, processing of applications and Admission Test and/or Interview of the candidates for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Multimedia and Web Technology in 2010-11 Session:

1. Application Form available from Web Site : 24.07.2010

2. Last date of receiving the Application Form along with the demand draft  at School of Education Technology, Jupiter building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata:  07.08.2010 (till 3.00PM)

3. Admit card of selected candidates for Admission Test and/or Interview available online from web site : 10.08.2010

4. Schedule of admission test and/or interview

a. Date : 13.08.2010

b. Time : 11.00AM

c. Venue : School of Education Technology, Jupiter Building, Jadavpur University, 188, Raja S C Mallik Road, Kolkata - 700 032

d. Date of Publication of Selection List : 16.08.2010

5. The selected candidates for admission are asked to get admission in the course positively by 20.08.2010 from 11 a.m. to 1.30p.m. failing which their selection may be cancelled without further reference.

6. The Wait Listed Candidate will asked to appear on 21.08.2010 by 12.30 PM for consider his/her name against the existing vacancy of different courses in the Office of School of Education Technology and the list of successful candidate will be displayed on the next working day in the F.E.T. Office as well as University web site.

7. Such successful waitlisted candidates selected for admission will be asked to get themselves admitted by 25.08.2010 failing which their selection may be treated as cancelled.

8. First Semester Classes will be commenced on 26.08.2010.

The candidate should note the following

1. Application form must be downloaded from website http://www.setju.ac.in. Incomplete Application form will not be considered.
2. Applicants should put necessary signatures.
3. An application fee of Rs. 100/-  as a demand draft from any Nationalised Bank drawn in favour of "Jadavpur University" payable at  Kolkata should be submitted along with the application form.
4. Completed application form along with demand draft will be received by the office of School of Education Technology at Jupiter Building of the University from 11-00 a.m. to 5-30 p.m. on weekdays (Monday to Friday, except holidays) and 11.00 a.m. to                        3.00 p.m. (Saturday) by hand till the last date i.e. 07.08.2010.
5. Completed application form along with demand draft sent by post, addressed to the Director, School of Education Technology, Jupiter Building, Jadavpur University, Kolkata – 700 032 should reach the University on an before the last date. No Form will be received after last date (i.e. 07.08.2010).
6. Applicant should keep the xeroxed copy of the application form and demand draft for future use if required,
7. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to download the admit card from url http://www.setju.ac.in.  Any candidate facing difficulty in downloading the admit card is advised to contact (in person) Director, School of Education Technology, 1 day before the start of the admission test and/or interview.
8. Photocopy of Application form (downloaded) is not permissible.
9. Failure to appear at the Admission Test and/or Interview on the specified date shall cancel his/her candidature without any further reference.
10. Final pass mark-sheet should be submitted within 3 months from the date of admission.
11. The candidate should brought the following attested documents along with original at the time of Admission test and/or interview and also at the time of admission after final selection
1. Admit Card/Certificate of S.F./Madhyamik or equivalent examination for verification of date of birth
2. All original Grade Cards and  Original Marksheet and Certificates of Secondary or equivalent ,H.S. or equivalent, B.E. or B.Tech. , B.Sc. , M.Sc.or equivalent
3. Family Income Certificate from the competent authority.
4. SC/ST Certificate, if applicable, in the name of the candidate(with photograph) from competent authority.
5. Identification proof (Voter ID card / Driving license / College ID card / Employer ID card / PAN card).
6. Affidavit (Annexure-I & II) as per UGC regulation at the time of admission. Available at http://www.jadavpur.edu/announce/announce.htm website.
12. The Admission Committee reserves the right of not selection any candidate who is considered physically unfit or otherwise unsuitable.
13. Registration of application does not confer any right of the applicant to be called for interview.
14. All J.U. courses are not residential. Hostel seats are not available .
